The Second Greatest Story Ever Told
In 1995,
The Music Production Crew of
Neal Bond and Dale Strength worked in conjunction with the audio recording department at Hennepin Technical College to help their "budding young studio engineers" work on some seriously "top notch " professional quality material

That was where this project started.

One of the students there suggested for something completely different the team put together a "gospel project" for them to work on .
Dale and Neal had no experience working with that type of material and originally blew off the idea.
But Neal remembered how Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Jesus Christ Superstar " really brought those old Sunday school stories of his youth to life back in the 70's and all of a sudden the wheels started spinning that it might be time to make a sequel.

So it was on.

Bond diligently went to the drawing board and decided to portray the "Early Church Fathers" exactly how Lloyd Weber would .....
And how they must have been viewed by their peers in that structured ancient society .
As "OUTLAWS",
"Gang Members"
Or Just "A ragtag group of misguided misfits
foolishly following the cursed one whom they believed died on the cross for them."

THE STRAYS PROJECT WAS BORN

The team tried to keep the tongue in cheek style that Weber used to move the storyline along but wanted to make sure that everything was accurately portrayed so they went right back to the original source material , "The Book Of Acts"

What started out as a lark turned into a full blown project that lasted well beyond it's humble technical college beginnings and it took four years to complete.

Bond even confided that on many occasions he would be awaken by a voice while sleeping saying "Get up and write"
and it was almost like the "ideas were being dictated" from somewhere otherworldly.

That's where the tagline "The Second Greatest Story Ever Told" came from.

Anyway here it is. All these years later.

The Minnesota Music History Channel believes you'll find these
songs , melodies and lyrics as fresh today as the day they were written.
